My Origin Story
Ever since I was a teen
...I've always been behind a camera. Though I never really pursued it as something serious. (Probably because the only camera I could afford was a disposable camera). Most of the moments captured were just snap shots of friends and family and goofy moments. ...memories to capture and show others after the film was developed. Sometimes waiting a whole week to see those pictures!
Sometime in the early 2000's
...I got a small digital Nikon point and shoot camera so that I didn't have to wait for developed film. The bonus was that it was super small to carry around. But I still wasn't pursuing it for anything more than just snap shots.
Jump ahead to 2012
...we were going on a vacation. I wanted to take better images than what phones could do back then. So I got a much better Nikon point & shoot. I almost got a DSLR then, but went against that idea since it would dig into our vacation money.
After 5 years of
...trying to be creative with the little Nikon, in 2017 I moved from the point and shoot camera to a crop sensor DSLR. I learned the basics and realized that I was quickly out growing it. I wanted to do more but was limited to the camera's capabilities and the smaller sensor.
I needed more control
...and more options. So in 2020 I upgraded to a full frame mirrorless camera with the intention of starting a new career in something I grew to love.
Today, I'm even more
...passionate about the craft. Even when I don't have my pro camera with me I'm always seeing ways of framing a shot. The only point & shoot I have now is an iPhone.
Yes...
...I ~do~ still have those old point & shoot cameras 🙂.
